Roy Sears Ahl's Obituary
Roy Sears Ahl died at home peacefully on September 1, 2022. He was born in Eureka, Montana on September 2, 1934 to the late Hans and Grace (Cates) Ahl. One April 27, 1965 he married his wife, Andrea (Muegge), of 57 years. Roy served on the USS Boxer for the US Navy during the Korean War. He retired from the Winnebago County Mental Health Institute after 32 years.
Roy enjoyed camping, fly fishing, tying flies, wood working, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Andrea; children Timothy Ahl, Linda (Dan) Burdick, Jill (Mike) Evans and Sherri (Ahl) Peterson; grandchildren Sudon (Grady) Ahl Weeden, Justin and Jessica Jordon, Lindsey and Thomas Burdick, Matthew (Kristie) Peterson, Nickolas (Abi) Peterson, Mitchell (Samantha) Peterson. He is further survived by 4 great grandchildren and his sister Jill Putzer.
He was preceded in death by his grandson Andrew Peterson, Daughter-in-law Sylvia Ahl and first wife Irene (Olson) Ahl.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 11 am with the visitation beginning at 10:30 am and a gathering to follow. Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church at 700 W. Linwood Ave in Oshkosh.
