Ruth E. Hoffman's Obituary
Ruth E. Hoffman, age 101, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2015, at Evergreen in Oshkosh. She was born April 8, 1914 in Oshkosh, WI, the daughter of Edward and Ida (Mirkes) Wohlt. She married Albert Hoffman on April 11, 1931. He preceded her in death in January 1969. They had two children, Wayne Hoffman (Sheridah) of Bowling Green, KY, and Charmaine (Robert) Weber of Oshkosh. She is survived by a daughter-in-law Sheridah (Gunderson) Hoffman, and two grandchildren, Candace (Don) Baxter and Wayne Lee Hoffman, all of Kentucky; two great-grandchildren, Tyler Hoffman and Haley Hoffman, also of Kentucky; many nieces, nephews and their families, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and both of her children. Also five brothers, one sister, and their spouses: Norbert; Harold (Evelyn); Raymond (Cecelia); Carlton (Irene); Robert (Jackie); and Jeanette (Raymond) Schlaak. A memorial service for Ruth will be held at 2pm on Sunday November 1, 2015 at the Poklasny Funeral Home at 870 W. South Park Ave. Oshkosh, WI 54902. Chaplain James Mallmann will officiate. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Sunday from 1pm until the time of service at 2pm. Private inurnment will be held at a later date. In Lieu of flowers please direct memorials to the Oshkosh Humane Society at 1925 Shelter Ct. Oshkosh, WI 54901. The family wishes to express deep appreciation to the staff of Garden Heights at Evergreen for the compassionate care given to Ruth.
