Ruth Elizabeth McKone's Obituary
Ruth Elizabeth McKone, age 100, of Oshkosh passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at Bethel Home in Oshkosh. Ruth was born in Oshkosh on January 8, 1921 the daughter of Hugo C. and Mabel (Kitz) Faust. Ruth married John T. “Jack” McKone on January 17, 1942 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Oshkosh. Ruth was a faithful member of St. Raphael Catholic Church. She was employed at Lourdes Academy from 1960 to 1990, then she worked at 4 imprint from 1993 to 2004. Ruth is survived by her sister, Mary Gabert of Oshkosh, two grandchildren, Cassandra (Dan) Demski of Omro and Cory (Sara) McKone of Oshkosh. Two great grandchildren, Caden and Brynn McKone. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack on September 27, 1992 and her son, Michael J. McKone on April 21, 2000.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 11 am at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Oshkosh. Father Tom Long will be the celebrant. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 am until the time of Mass. Committal services will be held at Riverside Catholic Cemetery. Ruth’s family would like to send a special thank you to Bethel Home 1 West, for their wonderful care and compassion given to her over the years. In Lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in her name.
