Sally Jean Hielsberg's Obituary
Sally Jean (Prosser) Hielsberg, age 89, went to her heavenly home on March 14th. She
was born October 3, 1934 in Antigo, Wisconsin to John R. and Jean M. (Rickman)
Prosser. She attended Antigo High School through her junior year. Moved to Appleton,
Wisconsin her senior year and graduated from Appleton West High School in 1953. She
married Kenneth L. Hielsberg on October, 30, 1954. Ken preceded her in death on
October, 1st 1998. She has spent the last twenty five years with her loving partner Carl
Ticks.
Sally was generous with her time and talent. She could fix anything. Sally was also a
talented baker gifting her specialty homemade rolls and banana cream pies. She worked
very hard alongside her husband to build their State Farm insurance agency. They
started out with a handful of files in a cardboard box, a borrowed desk and a phone that
was located on top of an upright piano. Sally and Ken built a successful business for over
30 years. She was a very devoted mother to her three children and always supported
them in pursuing their dreams.
Sally was also preceded in death by her sister Nancy Ropella and her husband Dennis,
her brother John and his wife Kaye. Her brother-in-law Marvin Hielsberg. Her mother
Jean Prosser/Casperson and her beloved father John Prosser.
Sally is survived by her daughter Crystal Hielsberg Gorwitz, son Peter Hielsberg, and
daughter Amy Hielsberg Mussell. She is also survived by her grandchildren Michael,
Jennie, Theron, Faye, Meghan, and her great grandchildren Penelope and Zoey. In
addition, she is survived by her sons-in-law Marshal and Dale and her daughter-in-law
Karen. Other surviving family includes her granddaughter Jennie’s husband Derek and
grandson Theron’s wife Bonnie. Sally is also survived by her partner Carl Ticks, his
daughter Kelly and her husband Chuck and their two children Bryce and Stephanie
Thompson and her husband Michael.
In keeping with her families wishes a private funeral ceremony was held in Calvary Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Oshkosh.
