Shirlene "Sugar" Wiedenhaft's Obituary
Shirlene "Sugar" L. Wiedenhaft, age 69, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, June 1, 2009. She was born on June 16, 1939 in Oconto, a daughter of the late Rolland and Lucille (Vandrise) Behnke. She married Vernon "Bucky" Wiedenhaft on September 24, 1955 in Oconto. The couple moved to Oshkosh in 1967. She had worked for Mondls, King Industries and Oshkosh B'Gosh. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Sugar loved to crochet, bake and cook, especially bread and german potato salad. She had also helped out and enjoyed working in the kitchen at George's Gas Light. Sugar will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her memory will be cherished by her husband, Vernon "Bucky"; three children, Jeff (Betty) Wiedenhaft of Neenah, Mike Wiedenhaft and Lori Wiedenhaft, both of Oshkosh; brothers, Jay (Linda) Behnke and Sheridan Behnke, both of Green Bay, Carl "Cub" (Glenda) Behnke of Arizona; sisters, Donna of Oconto and Virginia (Ralph) Rasmussen of Oconto; seven grandchildren, Rue (Deanna) Trompler, Michael (Jennifer) Wiedenhaft, Travis (Tenneal) Wiedenhaft, Nicholas Bodway, Travis Bodway, Courtney (Adam Butt) Wiedenhaft, Carine (Michael) Sommers; eight great-grandchildren, Drake, Kennedy, Ayron, Alyssa, Abbygail, Adler, Baby Girl Butt and Parker. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, a brother-in-law, Lloyd Wiedenhaft; many dear friends and her beloved dog, Muffin. She was preceded in death by siblings, Bonnie, Dean, Roger, Marilyn and a dear friend, Lea Mohr.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate her life on Friday, June 5, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at the Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven Drive in Oshkosh. The Reverend Jeffrey Knoll of Zion Lutheran Church will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held for the Wiedenhaft family at the funeral home on Friday begining at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of floral expressions, a memorial fund will be established.
