Shirley K. Leiby's Obituary
Shirley K. Leiby, age 87, of Oshkosh, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2014 at Century Oaks in Oshkosh. She was born on September 14, 1926, a daughter of the late Leighton Nash and Rose (Heidl) Small. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and was a graduate of Oshkosh High School. Shirley spent the majority of her working years in the the Oshkosh Area Schools, with seven years at Merrill Jr. High and 21 years at Oshkosh West in the Media Center. She married Carlton “Mike” Hafemann in 1949 and he preceded her in death in 1957. She married Leonard Mueller in 1958 and the couple divorced in 1964. Shirley then married Roger Leiby and he preceded her in death in 1975.
Shirley is survived by a daughter, Mary Ann Hafemann of Oshkosh; two sons, William Nash Hafemann of Oshkosh and David James (Rita) Mueller of Hayward, WI; a granddaughter, Rebecca Rose Kendell of Oshkosh; a great-granddaughter, Hailey Rose O’Brien. There will be no visitation, a private family service will follow cremation. Condolences may be sent to: 415 Congress Avenue in Oshkosh, WI 54901. Burial will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Century Oaks for the excellent care that was extended to Shirley over the past two years. The Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Homes and Crematory in Oshkosh, assisted the family with arrangements.
