Shirley M. Schoenrock's Obituary
Shirley Mae Schoenrock, age 87, of Oshkosh died Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh. She was born on July 22, 1928 to Harry and Grace (Trotter) Rutz. Shirley married Elder “Bud” Schoenrock on June 4, 1948. She made a wonderful home for them, whether at their home in Oshkosh or on the road in North Dakota where Bud was working for the family business building churches. After their son Tracy was born, they settled in Oshkosh and she assisted Bud in his income tax business until his retirement. Shirley enjoyed traveling to warm destinations during the winter months and especially the 12 cruises she and Bud took to various locations in the Caribbean and to Alaska. They made many friends from all over the world during their travels. They also loved to dine out and are well known in many Oshkosh restaurants. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Elder “Bud” Schoenrock; son and daughter-in-law, Tracy and Kathleen Schoenrock. She was a very proud grandmother to Amanda Schoenrock, Veronica Schoenrock and Shannon Schoenrock to whom she was affectionately known as “Willow”. She is further survived by nieces and nephews in Oshkosh, North Dakota, Minnesota, Florida and Canada.
Along with her parents, Shirley was also preceded in death by her sisters, Iris Hable and Vivian DeBehnke.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2016 from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. with funeral service immediately following visitation at Martin Luther Evangelical Church.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to The Oshkosh Area Humane Society and Martin Luther Evangelical Church of Oshkosh.
