Shirley M. Stamborski's Obituary
Shirley M. Stamborski, age 69, of Oshkosh, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Aurora Medical Center. She was born on July 23, 1940 in Milwaukee, a daughter of the late Steve P. and Thea (Pommerening) Daney. She married Albert Stamborski on January 24, 1970. Shirley was a member of First English Lutheran Church. She had worked for Park View Health Care Center for 13 years and most recently she worked for and retired from the Convergys Company in Appleton. Shirley greatly enjoyed bowling, bingo, darts, reading and spending time at the cottage in Twin Bridge.
Shirley's memory will be cherished by her husband, Albert of Oshkosh; a son, David (Toni) Stamborski of Oshkosh; two daughters, Sally Schafer of the Town of Neenah, Jennifer (Joe) Reinhart of Sheboygan; three brothers, Jerry (Barb) Pommerening of Oshkosh, Johnny (Anna-Maria) Daney and David Daney, both of Milwaukee; two sisters, Diana (Dennis) Dollhopf and Nancy Penoske, both of Milwaukee; four grandchildren, Haylee, Keegan, Connor and Parker. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many very dear friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Wesley Pommerening and Richard "Dickie" Daney; a sister-in-law, Geraldine Pommerening. Shirley will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services for Shirley wil be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. at the Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven Drive, the Reverend Timothy Greenwald will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held for the Stamborski family at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4p.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund will be established in her name. The family wishes a special thank you to the emergency room Doctors and Nurses at Aurora Medical Center for the compassionate care and concern that was extended to Shirley and her family.
