Sister Loretta Jacobs' Obituary
Sister Mary Loretta Jacobs, age 90, of Franciscan Courts in Oshkosh, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2012. She was born on October 7, 1921 in Mt. Vernon, Kansas a daughter of the late Henry and Margaret (Hilgers) Jacobs. She entered the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother as a Postulant on May 21, 1942 in Milwaukee, WI. She pronounced final vows on August 12,1950 and celebrated her 25th Jubilee of religious profession on August 16, 1970, her 50th Jubilee on September 27, 1992 and her 60th Jubilee on July 21, 2002. She earned a B.S. in Theology from Marian College in Fond du Lac, WI and Mt. Mary College in Milwaukee, WI. She served in various capacities; office work, medical records, and some teaching. She had been stationed in Wisconsin, Iowa, New Jersey and Oklahoma. Sr. retired at Franciscan Courts in Oshkosh on October 1, 2001. Homecoming for Sister Mary Loretta Jacobs will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. in the Franciscan Courts Chapel, in Oshkosh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Sr. Jacobs on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Franciscan Courts Chapel. Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Homes Oshkosh 920-235-1170
