Sister Mary Theolinda Russell's Obituary
Sister Mary Theolinda Russell died on Monday, August 27, 2012 at Franciscan Courts. She was 83 years old. Sister Mary Theolinda was born on December 15, 1928 to parents Conrad and Bertha (Randall) Russell and given the name Helena Edna Russell. She was born in Loxley, Alabama, she was one of three children. She attended Benedictine Heights College in Guthrie, OK for two years. After leaving college she went to work at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK where she became acquainted with the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother.
Sister entered the community of the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother on September 5, 1955 in Milwaukee, WI. When she entered the novitiate on August 12, 1958 and her final vows on August 12, 1963. She celebrated her Silver Jubilee on August 1, 1983 and Golden Jubilee on September 1, 2008. Sister Theolinda served at St. Michael Hospital in Stevens Point, WI; St. Joseph Hospital in Marshfield, WI; St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK; and later at Our Lady of Sorrows Convent in Broken Arrow, OK. She came to Franciscan Courts in Oshkosh, WI on January 12, 2010.
Homecoming service for Sister Theolinda will be at Franciscan Courts Chapel in Oshkosh at 4:00 p.m. (Today) August 28, 2012. The Mass of Resurrection will be on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. William Kuhr officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Catholic Cemetery.
