Spencer Preston's Obituary
Spencer Edward Preston died unexpectedly in Chandler, AZ on Sunday March 3rd 2013 at the age of 60.
He is survived in death by his three children: Melanie Tovar, Nathaniel Preston, and Joseph Preston, as well as his six grandchildren.
Spencer was born January 24th, 1953 in Oshkosh, WI to Clarence Joseph and Ruth Vig Preston. He was the second oldest of four leaving behind brothers John and Peter and his sister Mari.
While Spencer grew up in Oshkosh his life took him on travels across the world. After studying Mechanical Engineering at Portland State University in Portland, OR he would take positions with Intel, SpeedFam USA, Rodel, and would eventually found his own company, RimPad, with one of his close friends and colleagues, Bert Bentley. He has been awarded numerous patents for wafer polishing methods, apparatuses, and the polishing pads themselves. During this time he would travel extensively throughout South East Asia and live in Shanghai China as well as various parts of Japan. He would eventually settle in Arizona spending his last days helping care for his six grandchildren.
