Stephen Strunk's Obituary
Stephen Robert Strunk, age 65, of Oshkosh, passed away at his home on Saturday August 17, 2013. He was born in Shakopee, MN., on September 8, 1947 the son of the late Robert J and Janet M Heinen Strunk. Stephen was a graduate of the Dun Woody Trade School, and served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Viet Nam War, on the Destroyer USS Ault DD698. He married Jeanette Caron in Oshkosh on September 16, 2011. Until the time of his retirement he was employed as a lineman, and was a member of the IBEW. He was a Golden Glove Boxer, licensed open water diver, Yellow belt in Tai Kwon Do, Usher at St Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, volunteer for the Grand Opera House, and was a avid Harley Davidson rider.
Survivors include his wife; Jeanette Strunk, two sons; Dan Strunk, Ryan Strunk, two daughters; Heidi (Paul) Busch, Joy Strunk, special friend; Andrea Cianflone, and one sister; Ann Marie (Dennis) King, three grandchildren; Johnathan, Olivia, and Benjamin Busch. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services for Stephen will be held in Poklasny Funeral Home (870 W South Park) on Saturday August 24, at 10:00 AM with the Rev. Matt Simonar officiating. Inurnment with full military honors will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM until the hour of services.
