SUSAN BINDER's Obituary
Susan (Susie) Binder, age 65, a life-long resident of Oshkosh, died Friday, April 17th, 2020 at Crossroads Care Center in Mayville, Wisconsin, after a long battle with cancer. Susie was the youngest daughter of Gerald and Irene Donner Binder. Susie provided exceptional service as an international travel agent for Fox Valley Travel for many years until the time of her retirement.
Susie had many talents. She was skilled at embroidery, knitting, crocheting,
and basket weaving. She enjoyed gardening and had a “green thumb”. Warm weather often found her working in her garden or planting a flower bed. She loved hot air ballooning, and was senior crew chief and co-owner of a hot air balloon. She was also a founding member of the Fox Valley Ballooning Association. In addition, she was a volunteer navigator and counselor for the American Cancer Society.
Susie had a courageous spirit, and a generous, compassionate heart. She was devoted to her family, her friends, and her faith in the Lord. Those who knew and loved Susie will miss her upbeat loving spirit and her hospitality. There was always a dish of fine chocolates sitting on her coffee table to offer to others. We'll miss Susie's zest for life, her laughter and meaningful conversations, her encouragement, and her strong faith.
Susie is survived by a host of long-time friends and family who mourn her passing: Irene Binder, her mother; two sisters, Donna Binder, and Kathy Sohm, and her husband Steve; her devoted niece, Jennifer Mansheim, her husband Tom, and teenage children Jaclyn, Zach, Steven, and Katelyn; her nephew, Ryan Muschinski, his wife Deb, and their daughter Maya. Special recognition and thanks need to be given to Kathy Meinen, Susie's life-long friend who stayed by Susie's side throughout her long battle with cancer. Other good friends include Barb Esselman and Laura Mueller, who has been caring for Sam, Susie's long-time feline companion.
Due to the current situation with the corona virus at this time, a memorial Mass and service will be postponed until a later date.
