Theodore Miller's Obituary
Theodore G. Miller, age 93, of Oshkosh passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2013. He was born on October 3rd, 1919, in Oshkosh, WI, the son of Joseph & Rose (Nigl) Miller. Ted was preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter Mary, along with six brothers Eugene, Gabe, George, Norbert, Vince, and Joe. Three sisters Caroline (Sr. Gabriel), Marie, and Rita.
Ted was a lifelong resident of Oshkosh and attended St. Vincent's school. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and socializing with friends and co-workers. He was a member of St. Vincent’s Catholic Church where he sang in the choir for over 50 years. He also enjoyed singing at family and social gatherings and will be sadly missed by many.
Ted proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II after which he worked construction, managed the Shell and Spur gas stations on Ohio Street for 23 years and later tended bar at the Pioneer Inn for 35 years before retiring at age 85.
Survivors include his wife Jeanette (Dichtl) of 67 years and four sons; Mike (Nancy), Doug, Ron (Linda), and Teddy (Pam); four grandchildren Paul, Cody (Krystina), Jeremiah (Geraldine), Michelle, and three great grandchildren Grady, Mia, and Noah.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Mon. April 1st at St. Vincent’s Catholic Church on Oregon St., Oshkosh. Visitation is at 10am.
The family would like to thank the staff at Eden Meadows for the great care and the kindness they provided Ted and his family.
