THERESA "TERRY" BABCOCK's Obituary
Theresa Babcock, age 81, of Oshkosh, died Wednesday July 23, 2014 at her home. She was born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia Canada on November 9, 1932 the daughter of the late Daniel and Adelaide Delaney Lever. Theresa married Robert Babcock on November 27, 1964. She was employed by S N C in Oshkosh for 20 years, and was also Chief Stewart for the U A W Local 2132.
Terry was an amazing woman, who loved her family more than life itself. She loved to travel and spend many winters in AZ and summers in Canada, and upper MI. She enjoyed puzzles, and was an avid Packer, Brewer and Badger fan. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her, laughed with her and cracked open a beer with her. Her memory will live forever in the hearts of her children, smiles of her grandchildren, and the stories shared by those whose path she crossed.
Survivors include her husband; Bob Babcock, of Oshkosh, one son; Steven (Heather Schumacher) Babcock, Albany NY, two daughters; Helen (Robert) Genal, Oshkosh, Dawn Shipley, Oshkosh, six grandchildren; Joshua Floyd, Tommy Parker, Matthew, Nicholas, Brittney Genal, and Steven’s son Nathan “Jr”, one great-grandson; Rylee Floyd, five brothers; Fred (Anita) Lever, Milton, Ontario, John Lever, Toronto, Canada, Harold Lever, Glace Bay, Dennis (Helen) Lever, Glace Bay, Sonny (M.C.) Lever, Ajax Ontario, three sisters; Stella Campbell, Glace Bay, Shirley Doucette, Dartmouth Nova Scotia, Lorna Le Lievre, Glace Bay, her special furry friend; Nitschski, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by five brothers; Bill, James Leo, Cornelius, Theodore, Leroy, three sisters; Shirley Anne, Helen Gouthro, and Ethel O’neill.
Funeral services for Theresa will be held in Poklasny Funeral Home on Monday July 28, at 1:00 PM with the Rev. William Van DeKreeke officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 AM until the hour of services.
In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established.
The family would like to thank nurse Liz and social worker Rachel from Hospice for their continued support and dedication to Terry during her illness.
