THERESIA MELNIK's Obituary
Theresia Melnik, born April 27, 1925 in Setchan Banat, Yugoslavia, daughter of Josip and Rosina Mueller, married to Dimitrie Roman Melnik on 12/12/1950 in Strassburg Austria has passed away on September 9, 2016. She, her husband and their newborn son, Karl, and her mother came to the United States in 1951 following WWII.. Originally to New Jersey and 1 year later to Oshkosh, WI to join her sister there. She worked for the rector at St. John's parish and was a part time housekeeper for St. John's Catholic Church. She worked for Father McClone and then Father Bill for 17 years. Her hobbies were gardening, she was an amazing seamstress, cook and baker. Her cookies and meals will be sorely missed. She and her husband, Roman were known for their square dancing. She loved her dog, Susie, who she took for countless walks. She was preceded in death by her father, brother, mother and sister and husband, Roman Melnik. Survivors are her son, Karl, and his girlfriend Debbie Mosling of Onalaska, WI, Debbie's son and wife, Justin and Julie of Menomonie Falls, her daughter, Dr. Marianne Melnik and her husband, Phil, her granddaughters, Andrea and Ashley Lange and 2 great grandsons, Charlie and Gus, all in Grand Rapids, MI. Also a niece, Elizabeth Ellenberger and her children and grandchildren in Milwaukee and Texas. She leaves great and faithful friends, Rodell Riemersma and Katie Pimiskern who were by her side faithfully. She is very grateful to Restoration Hospice who were with her for 2 years. We will miss you, Mom, you were an outstanding woman and we are so proud of you!
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday September 16, at 11:00 AM in St Jude the Apostle Catholic Church (St Vincent worship site) with Rev William Van de Kreeke and Rev Matt Simonar officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Family and friends may call at the church on Friday Morning from 10:00 AM until the hour of services.
