Thomas R. Gospodarek's Obituary
Thomas R. Gospodarek "Gus," 88 years old, passed away on May 14, 2026.
He was born on July 30, 1937 in Manitowoc, WI, the son of Alois and Marcella (Shedivy) Gospodarek. Tom attended St. Mark and St. Luke's grade school, Two Rivers High School and graduated from UW-Oshkosh.
He was very athletic, played football in high school (all conference), UW-O under coach Bob Kolf and semi-pro for the Manitowoc Chiefs. Golf was a lifelong passion and encouraged his children and grandchildren to play. He also played softball for Red's Pizza.
On April 28, 1962, while on leave from Ft. Lewis, Washington he married Faye Spanbauer at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. They traveled back to Ft. Lewis where he was stationed for the Berlin Wall crisis. After returning home, Tom was employed at Rockwell International (Meritor) for 30 years in the stockroom and in purchasing. He retired after 30 years, in 1993.
Tom and Faye enjoyed traveling and had many family trips and yearly trips to the cottage on Hills Lake. Tom was an active member of Sacred Heart Parish (St. Jude) serving on Parish Council and as a Eucharistic Minister for 30 years.
He will be missed by his wife; Faye of 64 years, daughters; Anne (Scott) Boyce, Chris (Paul) Morgan, grandchildren; Nathan (Marissa) Boyce, Matthew (Katie) Boyce, Nick (Kayla) Morgan, Emily Morgan, great-grandchildren; Brady and Harper Boyce, Louella and Lillian Boyce, Leo and James Morgan.
He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law; Leon and Sarah Gospodarek, Susie Gospodarek, sister and brother-in-law Carrie and Dan Amond, sister-in-law; June Wiechman and many nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law; Marge and Barney Spanbauer, brother; Phil Gospodarek, brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Larry and Carol Spanbauer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday May 19, 2026 at 11:00 AM at St. Jude Parish (Sacred Heart site) 519 Knapp St., with Fr. Louis Golamari officiating. A time for visitation will be held from 9:30 until the time of Mass at church on Tuesday. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Jude Parish and Lourdes Academy.
