Thomas Lehocky's Obituary
Thomas J. Lehocky, 56 of Oshkosh died unexpectedly at Mercy Medical Center Sunday, September 7th with his family by his side. He was born March 18, 1958 to Richard Sr. and Dorothy (Massura) Lehocky at the University of Chicago. Tom and his loving wife Jean married February 8, 1981 in Chicago, Ill. and moved to Green Lake, WI with their infant son Joseph in the summer of 1982. Tom and Jean operated a hot dog stand near Green Lake Marina selling the famous "Chicago Dog" to locals and tourists. That is also where Tom acquired his life long love of the water and started selling boats at Green Lake Marina.
Tom loved the water and you could find him somewhere in the middle of Green Lake greeting his loyal customers and friends. He was the happiest when his granddaughters and special helpers Colin and Ethan were around. His laugh was contagious, his loyalty and kindness were things to admire. Tom was the type of person that would help anyone he could, especially if children were involved. He enjoyed golfing, camping and catching local high school basketball games.
Tom is survived by his loyal wife Jean, sons Joseph (Rebecca), Thomas (Ashley), and Eric (Hannah)His four granddaughters CherishAnn, Hailee Blu, Hanna and Londyn. Brothers and sisters Richard Jr. (Maureen), Mark, David, Maria (Brian) Pond, John (Lisa), and Renee (Anne). Brothers and sisters in-law Therese (Marv) Cichlar, Linda (Jerry) Dalton, James (Lorraine) Groveau, Bobby (Sue) Groveau, Lori (Mark) Ellis, Mark (Lori) Groveau, and Matt Groveau. Sister in-law Debbie Lehocky. Mother in-law Elaine (Gravenitis) Groveau, many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, and Nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father Richard Sr., mother Dorothy (Massura) Lehocky, brother Eddie, father in-law James Groveau, niece Kathryn, nephew Chass, uncle Edward and aunt Sister Joan Marie.
Funeral services will be held on Friday September 12, 2014 at 4pm at the Fiss & Bills Funeral Home at 865 S. Westhaven Drive. Oshkosh, WI 54904. Father Doug LeCaptain will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday at the funeral home from 10am until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial for Thomas has been established.
