Thomas Martin's Obituary
Thomas E. Martin, 72 of Oshkosh, died suddenly with his family at his side, Friday December 30, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center due to complications from cancer. He was born October 15, 1939 in Royalton WI. the son of Melvin and Clara (Kostmerchock) Martin. He married Patricia Griffin on October 17, 1964 in Manawa WI. He worked for over 38 years at Oshkosh Truck. After his retirement he enjoyed working part-time for Bergstrom Automotive. Tom was a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church.
Tom is survived by his wife Pat of Oshkosh. His son Mike (Lisa) Martin of Franklin WI. Three daughters, Marcia (Gene) Taylor of Wind Lake WI, Monica (Jon) Pomasl of Hortonville and Melissa (Gus) Wuest of Appleton. One Brother, Jim (Sue) Martin of Oshkosh. One sister, Mary (Norm) Sellin of Waupaca and his sister in law, Carol (Lee) Zuberbier of Oshkosh. He is further survived by his grandchildren, Lucy and Max Martin, Jack and Alex Taylor, Nicole and Katie Pomasl and Gary Wuest. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Robert.
Tom was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed The Packers, Badgers and Brewers. His time spent with his family and grandchildren is what he cherished most, along with the close friendships he had. Tom will be remembered most for his dry sense of humor and his teddy bear charm. The family would like to thank Dr. Karen Gremminger and staff at Fox Valley Hematology & Oncology, with special thanks to Monica, Lana, Ben and Wendy for their compassion and care. Our sincere gratitude to Renee, ICU nurse, who provided him with exceptional care in his final hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 6:00pm, in St. Raphael's Catholic Church, the Rev. Luke Ferris officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Church, Tuesday, from 3:00pm until the time of services
