Vernon DeWitt's Obituary
Vernon DeWitt passed away comfortably at his home in Winter Garden, Fl. on August 9, 2012 at the age of 80. He was hard working and always willing to help anyone in need. He had a smile that was infectious and would light up a room. He was born in Green Bay WI. on November 7, 1931 the son of Theophil and Agnes Maus DeWitt. He was a loving husband to his wife Catherine Brennand whom he married November 6, 1954. Vern worked for John Boss for 8 years farming. He then worked for the Oshkosh Shipping Association until 1985, when he moved to Orlando, Fl. where he took a position with the maintenance department at Isleworth Golf Course. Vern is survived by his wife Catherine; sons Vernon (Mary) Dewitt of Oshkosh, Douglas (Wanda) DeWitt of Winneconne, a daughter, Kim (Bill) Glausier of Orlando FL; grandchildren, Billie Jo (Greg) Kaler, Joseph DeWitt, Tiffany DeWitt, and Katelyn DeWitt; and two great grandchildren, Dessiea and Harlyn Kaler. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Jude's Parish, St. Vincent's Church on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at 11:00am, the Rev William Van de Kreeke officiating, Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Family and friends may call at the Church Thursday from 9am until the time of services. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Vista Hospice Care, 2201 Lucien Way, Maitland, FL 32751 in Vern's memory.
