Vernon “Bucky” Wiedenhaft, age 86, of Oshkosh died on December 22, 2020, from injuries sustained after being struck by a car. He passed peacefully surrounded by his family. On September 24, 1954, he married the love of his life, Shirlene “Sugar” Behnke. They were blessed with three children. Bucky and Sugar moved to Oshkosh in 1967, where he worked for People’s Brewery. After the brewery closed, he went to work for Oshkosh Truck, retiring in 1999. After retirement, Bucky and Sugar enjoyed spending time at their cottage in Campbellsport, WI. After Sugar passed away in 2009, Bucky enjoyed spending time with his family, making daily rounds driving through Menomonee Park and through the carp ponds, giving reports to anyone who asked. Bucky was a devote member of Zion Lutheran Church, Oshkosh. Bucky is survived by his children; Jeff (Betty), Mike (Debbie), and Lori; nine grandchildren, Brent (Deanna), Michael (Jennifer), Travis (Tenneal), Nicholas (Fiancée Rachel), Travis, Courtney (Jon), Carine, Joey (Janice), Charlie (Kim); and sixteen great-grandchildren. Bucky was loved by his family and his church family, and all of the neighbors and will be greatly missed by all.
