Vicky Lee (Reany) Paulson's Obituary
Vicky Lee Reany Paulson, 70, joined her heavenly Father on Saturday, July 18, 2026 after battling stroke and dementia for the past several months. Vicky was born on January 26, 1956 in Oshkosh, WI to Dorothy and William (Bud) Reany, the oldest of three girls.
She was raised on a farm in rural Winnebago County and was proud of her farming background. Vicky attended Omro Schools, graduating in 1974. She married Stephen F. Hobbs in 1976 and they had three sons. In October 2002, she married Randy Paulson and they blended his two girls into the family.
Vicky liked to bowl, garden, read, play the piano, and sing in the choir at First Presbyterian Church, Oshkosh. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant and truly enjoyed visiting with her elderly patients.
Vicky’s proudest accomplishment was researching her connection to Abraham Lincoln’s lineage. She clarified facts that had previously been incorrectly recorded, and wrote two books on her research and findings which are both part of the Lincoln Library in Springfield Il.
Vicky is survived by her husband, Randy, her children, Stephen F. (Becky) Hobbs II, Andrew Hobbs, Michael (Kim) Hobbs, Sarah (Mike) Dubois, and Jennifer (John) Kobel, sixteen grandchildren and one great—grand child. She is further survived by her sister Patty (Deemer) and several cousins and friends. Preceding her in death were her father and mother, and sister, Jody.
Services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 1 at First Presbyterian Church, 110 Church Ave. Oshkosh, beginning with visitation from 9:30 am—11:00 am, with Paster Deb Swets officiating a service at 11:00. Following interment at Minckler Cemetery on Knott Road in Zion, a luncheon will be served in the church’s Magnolia Hall.
The family would like to thank the staff at Ascension Hospital ICU and at Edenbrook Nursing Home for the care and compassion shown to Vicky in her final days.
