Virginia "Ginny" Abrams' Obituary
Virginia R. "Ginny" Abrams, age 92, of Oshkosh, went to be with the Lord on June 19, 2009. She was born on February 11, 1917 in Oshkosh, a daughter of Matt and Grace (Reichenberger) Matsche. Ginny worked at Mueller-Potter Drug Store for 35 years and after retiring she was a grandma at Winnebago Mental Health Institute for 20 years with the volunteer grandparents program. She really liked working with the children. She was a member of the choir, Altar Society and Rosary Society at St. Jude the Apostle Parish (Sacred Heart Church) many years ago. She also greatly enjoyed bowling, traveling, dartball, casino trips and spending time with family and friends at get togethers.
Ginny is survived by two sisters, Lucille Klug of Butte des Morts and Grace Sitter of Oshkosh; a granddaughter, Rochelle "Shelly" (Luke) Sherry of Neenah; a son-in-law, Henry (Esther) Weitz of Oshkosh; brother-in-law, Raymond Beduhn of Garland, Texas; the Holdrens, Richard (her private chef), Julie (who was like a daughter), Robert (who did all of Ginny's grass cutting and shoveling); special nephew, John Zarter (who was like a son). She is further survived by many special nieces, nephews, family and many dear friends. Ginny was preceded in death by her parents, Matt and Grace; a daughter, Louise Weitz; brother, Marvin Matsche; three sisters, Meta Beduhn, Bernette Loos and Valeria "Val" Zarter.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Ginny on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Jude the Apostle Parish, (Sacred Heart Church), with the Reverend Fr. William Van de Kreeke as celebrant. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery following the Mass.
The family would like to thank Dr. Alzoubi, Dr. Sabih, Dr. Alnouri, Dr. Dudley and Dr. Mark Smith for their good care through the years. Also a special thank you to Bethel Home and ALL of the staff that was so kind to Ginny and her family members.
