VIRGINIA D HANNES's Obituary
Virginia D. Hannes, age 83, of Oshkosh, passed away Monday June 6, 2016 at Eden Meadows in Oshkosh. She was born in Oshkosh on February 23, 1933 the daughter of the late Herman and Ella Neimuth Meyer. Virginia married Lawrence Hannes on June 28, 1952 in Oshkosh. He preceded her in death in 1990. She was employed for twenty-eight years at the Winnebago Mental Health Institute in the food service department until the time of her retirement. Virginia was a past member of the Ladies Elk’s #292 in Oshkosh, several bowling leagues, enjoyed trips to any casino, and was catholic by faith.
Survivors include four sisters-in-law; Joyce Meyer, of Oshkosh, Dee Meyer, CA, Delores Meyer, Fremont WI., Willa Jo Meyer, GA, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, three sisters, and very special friend; Gordy Ryan.
Funeral services for Virginia will be held in the Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home (865 S Westhaven) on Monday June 13, at 11:00 AM with the Rev. William Van deKreeke officiating. Burial will be in Brooks Cemetery in the Town of Vinland. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 AM until the hour of services.
