Virginia "Jean" T. Schmidt's Obituary
Virginia (Jean) T. Schmidt, 97, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, January 19, 2025. She was born on August 13, 1927 in Oshkosh, the daughter of Joseph and Margaret (Reinert) Frank. She married Robert (Bob) Schmidt on November 4, 1950. She loved taking care of her family. She was a wonderful cook, loved reading, taking trips with her friends and just being there for her family. She worked 40 years at Mondl Manufacturing. Survivors include daughter Kathy Gill, granddaughter Jody A. Kemp, her special grandsons, Colin and Ethan Kemp, four step grandchildren, six step great grandchildren, four step great, great grandchildren and one half brother, Joey Frank. Virginia was preceded in death by parents, the love of her life, husband Robert, son Michael (Donna), infant son, sister Dorothy (Gordon)Blanchette, brothers Ken (Flo) and Richard (Vera)Frank and son-in-law Robert Gill.
Funeral services for Jean will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 12 noon in the Poklasny Funeral Home, 870 W. South Park Ave. in Oshkosh with Deacon Pat Gelhar officiating. A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 am until the time of service. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
Great grandma always appreciated everything Colin and Ethan did for her. “The world changes from year to year, our lives from day to day, but the love and memory of you shall never pass away”.
