Virginia V.'s Obituary
Virginia Haase Vogel Fox passed away at Mercy Medical Center on January 17, 2012. She was born on December 2, 1915 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Erma J (Haase) Vogel and Eugene O Vogel. As a member of Alpha Chi Omega, she graduated from Northwestern University School of Commerce (Kellogg) in 1937. Virginia then worked in personnel for Illinois Bell Telephone Co. in Chicago. Returning to Oshkosh she was associated with the O. A. Haase Shoe Co. founded by her grandfather Otto A. Haase in 1885 and sold in 1955. She was past treasurer of the Curative Workshop associated with the Visiting Nurse Association. Virginia was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Neenah. She married Harry W. Fox on his birthday May 8, 1941. He preceded her in death on July 19, 1993. She loved and was very proud of her three children, eight grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren. Survivors include her children: Ellen Greene of Kimberton, PA., Katherine Curley of Worcester, Vt., and Frederick (Ann) Fox of Arden Hills, MN. Eight grandchildren survive her: Frances Merriman (Michael) Robinson of Lake Forest, IL., Caleb Merriman of Minneapolis, MN., Elizabeth (Scott) Kauffman of Arlington, VA., William (Deborah) Curley IV of Livonia, MI., Dr. Jessica Curley (Barry) Mendeloff of Chicago, IL., Jennifer Fox of Minneapolis, MN., Nathan (Amy) Fox of Eden Prairie, MN., and Adam Fox of Minneapolis, MN. Great-grandchildren include: Emily, Grace, and Hannah Robinson, Michael and Lauren Merriman, Ella Kauffman, Eleanor and Alexandra Curley, Mattias and Keira Mendeloff, Benjamin, Hannah, and Nathan Jack Fox.> Friends and relatives may visit at Fiss and Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home, 865 S. Westhaven Drive in Oshkosh, on Friday, January 20, 2012 from 10:00 a.m.until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the First Presbyterian Church of Neenah, the Salvation Army, Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh, or a charity of your choice.
