Walter Edwin Tesch's Obituary
After 87 years of grace, our Lord, in His mercy, called our brother, Walter Tesch, to his eternal Home in heaven on Wednesday, April 8. He passed away peacefully in his sleep after waiting 13 years.
Walter was born on Friday, July 22, 1938, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin to Edwin and Alice (Lipke) Tesch. He was brought into the family of God on Sunday, August 21, 1938, through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. Alex Tesch and Getrude Lipke served as his sponsors.
On Friday, July 27, 1956, he married the love of his life, the former Marlene Ratzburg, in Iron Mountain, Michigan. They were married for 57 years when God called Marlene Home to His side.
Walter served in the National Guard. He worked as a draftsman and then as an architect, working long hours to provide for his family of seven. He owned and operated his own architectural firm, Tesch, Tesch & Associates.
He was a faithful member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Walter is survived by his children: Richard (Kathy) Tesch of Green Bay, Ellen Paulin of Fond du Lac, Alison (Richard) Tobianski of Colfax, Rev. Jon (Barbara) Tesch of Onalaska, Walter (Barbara) Tesch of New Berlin; nineteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren; his brother, Edward (Patricia) Tesch, and sister, Barbara (Robert) Heath; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Alice, his wife, Marlene, and his grandson, Aaron.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, April 24 at 11:00AM at Faith Ev. Lutheran Church, 1745 Ohio Street, Oshkosh, WI 54902. Rev. Paul Lidtke will officiate. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9am until the time of service. Committal will be at Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Oshkosh.
