Walter H. Young's Obituary
Walter H. “Bud” Young, age 98, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Elijah's Place in Oshkosh. He was born on September 3, 1920 in Ladysmith, Wisconsin a son of the late Adolph and Freda (Kurshinsky) Young. Walter was a US Army WW II veteran who received many medals including the Bronze Star and Combat Infantry Badge for his service in Germany. For many years he worked at American Excelsior Company working his way up the ranks in both Rice Lake and Oshkosh.
Walter is survived by daughters, Debbie (Jim) Lindoff, Denise (Peter) Mixon; step children, David (Nancy) Stoinski, Teresa Winkler; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Lois Harringer, Ruth (Ken Wilson) and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by first wife Hulene (Deutch) whom he married in 1942 and she passed in 1969 and wife Elizabeth (Stoinski) whom he married in 1975 and she passed in 2015. Sisters, Charlette, Augusta, Mary; brothers, Ray, Robert, Gene; granddaughter, Carrie; son-in-law, Lee and a brother-in-law, Lee Harringer.
Memorial services for Bud will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 2, 2018 in First United Methodist Church, 700 W. Linwood Avenue in Oshkosh. Friends and family are welcome at the church from 10 am until the time of service. The family would like to thank the staff of Elijah's Place and Compassus Hospice for their loving care and exceptional support. Walter was an outstanding man with a sense of humor that made people laugh. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
