WILLIAM "BUD" KING SCHAEFER's Obituary
William K. “Bud” Schaefer, age 91, of Oshkosh died Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Evergreen Manor. He was born in Oshkosh on February 8, 1926, the son of the late William and Charlotte Honsinger Schaefer. Bud served his country in the U. S. Navy from 1943-1946. He graduated from Oshkosh Business School. Bud married Germaine Fenzl on September 28, 1957 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oshkosh. Until the time of his retirement, Bud was employed as an accountant for Victrylite Candle Co., Lenox Candle Co., and Old Orchard Candle Co. He was a Fourth Degree knight with the Knights of Columbus and was extremely proud to have taken the Old Glory Honor Flight on April 3, 2014.
Bud is survived by two sons: Bill (Ali) Schaefer, Paul Schaefer; two daughters: Mary Schaefer, Ann (Tom) Kloeckner; six grandchildren: Libbey (Nick) Thomas, Carly Flynn, Jamie Tesch, Cody (Megan) Kloeckner, Jenna (Heidi) Kloeckner, Nicholas Schaefer; eight great-grandchildren: Brady, Max, Levi, Nolan, Kinley, Hailey, Lily and Brayden. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Zoë Kislowitz and one sister, Charlotte Zwicky.
Funeral services for Bud will be held on Sunday September 17, at 1:00 PM in Fiss & Bills-Poklasny Funeral Home (865 S Westhaven) with the Rev Matt Simonar officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 11:00 AM until the hour of services. Entombment will be in Lake View Memorial Park on Tuesday September 19, at 11:00 AM with full Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
