Bill was a truly special person and a man of honor. When working for him at Midwest Real Estate we talked often. He was always so proud of his family. He was caring, kind, and humorous.
My deepest condolences to his amazing family.

Much like the eclipse on Monday, the Markee world has been darkened. Tuesday morning-my brother Bill-lost his 4 year battle with cancer. The loss is devastating to so many. Bill is the oldest of 12 and we siblings share a strong bond. I recall when he was leaving for college. I was 6 years old. At that age, I knew nothing other than all of us living under the same roof. I vividly remember sitting in his room at the end of the long hallway, watching him pack...wondering. He must've noticed the look of confusion on my face. Bill reached up onto the top bunk and pulled down a long, stuffed, pink snake he had won at a carnival and said, "would you like this?" I know now that it was his way of saying, " it's ok, I'll still be around" and he was. Bill-the leader of the pack, the strong one, the one everyone looked up to. No matter how far away he moved, he was always available to provide the best advice and was always present at important family gatherings. I envy his long and strong marriage to Denise Markee. They raised three amazing kids - Nicole Villars, Blake Markee and Hunter Markee. My heart aches for all of them. I will miss my big brother, Bill. But I know, "it's ok" and he will still be around...in all of us.
Bill,
Thank you for being an inspiration to a lot of people around you. I relied on you often for advice, or a kick in the behind. You allowed me to be a part of your wonderful family, and I am truly grateful for that. We had many fun times together, and even some that were difficult, but you remained strong willed. You are a lucky man to have such a wonderful women that "put up" with some of your jokes and antics, and had fun with you along the way. You raised three wonderful child (and their friends) that all have a special trait that you passed down to them.
Thank you for being a "second" father to me for so long, and being a part of the most special day of my life when Hannah and I got married. "How is that beautiful wife of yours?"- This was on so many texts and messages on your board to me. This showed me that you approved of her, and your input meant so much to me.
Please tell Papa Tom that the boys are living his legacy; just as Nicole, Blake and Hunter will be doing for you! I am sure you both are bellied up selling new homes and new boats up there.
