William C. Nolte's Obituary
William “Bill” Charles Nolte, age 76, of Oshkosh, Wi, passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 15th, 2018.
He was born to the late C. Dale and Doris (Albrecht) Nolte on March 7th, 1942 in Oshkosh, Wi. He graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1960.
Bill married Judith A. (Spanbauer) Nolte on June 8th, 1984 in Oshkosh, Wi.
Bill was the owner of Nolte’s Northside Service and Towing in Oshkosh for 37 years. His love of cars and passion for towing was what gave him the great reputation that he had in town. Bill spent many evenings at the Eagle’s club watching Ken race R/C cars and going to Nascar and Indy races together.
Bill was a member of the Oshkosh Lakeshore Lions for many years and a 39 year member of the Oshkosh Elks.
Bill enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren playing outside, going for bike rides and constantly teasing them. He spent most of his weekend mornings delivering donuts to family and friends around town. Mornings at Hardees and cards with friends were also favorite past times. Bill was very active. He loved going for bike rides, long walks, and going to the senior center. Bill enjoyed helping the neighbors in “the park” with yard work, mowing lawns and blowing leaves. Bill was always willing to help out a friend in need.
Bill is survived by his wife Judy, daughters Barb Beyer, Kim (Brent) Crubaugh and son Ken (Abby) Cravillion. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren; Kyle Summerville, Samantha Walker, Lucas and Lila Crubaugh and Madilyn and Aurora Cravillion. He is further survived by his brother John (Christine) Nolte, sisters-in-law Jean Fietzer, Janet (Richard) Strand, Jackie Spanbauer, Susan (Steven) Bauer, Wendy Spanbauer and brother-in-law Tom (Jessica) Spanbauer and many nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his father and mother-in-law George and Jeanette Spanbauer, brothers-in-law Don Fietzer, Richard “Dick” Spanbauer, Robert “Bob” Spanbauer, sons-in-law Lon Marto and Randy Beyer, nephews Joey Spanbauer and Adam Bauer.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 20th from 3:30-6:00 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Jude the Apostle Parish St. Vincent’s Church in Oshkosh, Wi. A casual Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 21st from 11:00-3:00 at the Oshkosh Elks Club.
In Lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
Bill’s family would like to extend a special thank you to their neighbors, the first responders and ER staff at Aurora Medical Center for all of their efforts and compassionate care Sunday evening.
