William Howard Perzentka's Obituary
William Howard Perzentka, age 83, of Oshkosh, WI, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2022, at his home. He was born on May 14, 1939, in Oshkosh, WI, the son of Joseph and Anna Perzentka. He was the second of five siblings. On January 4th, 1959, he married Sharon McClure, who survives.
He served on the U.S. Dyess Airforce Base in Abilene, Texas as a jet engine mechanic from 1956 to 1962. Bill was employed by Rockwell International as a machinist for 30+ years, retiring in 1996.
William was a devoted, loving husband and a caring father. He enjoyed riding his cycle with his wife and friends, camping out with his sons, cooking, and fishing. During his retirement years, together with his wife, they spent every winter in Texas along the Mexican border where they were part of a large group of snowbirds. You could find them on the dance floor, at community cookouts, and somewhere in Mexico having a happy hour. Also, Bill was a handyman and a pet lover. We all knew him as a genuinely kind and compassionate soul, who had brought joy and laughter to many people’s lives. He will be deeply missed, but more importantly, he will be remembered for his passion for life and a big heart.
He is survived by his son, William Perzentka Jr.; son, Joseph (Oxana) Perzentka; son, Thomas (Jeff Patt) Perzentka; grandchildren, Mathew and William George, Caitlyn, Brandon, and Jonique Perzentka; sister, Shirley Swinton; brother, Joseph (Shirley) Perzentka; sister, Virginia (Ruben) Borgardt.In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sister Joann Sass.
The memorial service will be held at the Marine Corps League (4715 Sherman Rd, Oshkosh) on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 1pm with Mike Hert, Amvets Chaplin, officiating.
A visitation will be held from 12 pm until the time of service.The Celebration of Life will start after the Honor Guard Salute.
