Donald H. Verhoff's Obituary
Donald H. Verhoff, age 77, of Oshkosh and Green Bay, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2024 at Angel's Touch Assisted Living and Memory Care in DePere, WI. Don was born on July 4, 1946 a son of the late Frank and Dorothy (Schimmoeller) Verhoff. He served his country proudly in the US Air Force and he attended and graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Don married the former Sandra Eileen Heffner on December 30, 1967. He had worked for and retired from Oshkosh Corporation after 37 years of dedicated service. Don greatly enjoyed cycling, boating, working on classic cars, traveling with Sandra, spending time in Florida and especially enjoyed time with his grand kids.
Don is survived by and his memory will be cherished by his wife of 56 years, Sandra of Green Bay; four children, Kimberly (Daniel) VandeYacht of Green Bay, David (Tanya) Verhoff of Menasha, Chris (Raisa Ramos) Verhoff of Neenah, Melissa (J.J.) Schiek of Oshkosh; three brothers, Dennis Verhoff, Cletus (Peggy) Verhoff, Mark Verhoff all of Alabama; three sisters, Judith (Robert) Wilcox of Michigan, Linda (Norman) Blakey, Karen Lawler, both of Alabama; ten grandchildren, Jessica, Jack and Kaitlin; Kennedi, Weston, Jaxon; Carlos, Alexandria; Will and Simon. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. Don was preceded in death by two sisters, Marge Elegeer and Sue Robson; sister-in-law, Patsy Verhoff and brother-in-law, Simpson Lawler.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Don on Monday, January 15, 2024 at 11:30 am in St. Raphael Catholic Church, 830 S. Westhaven Drive in Oshkosh,WI with the Rev. Quinn Mann celebrating. Burial with full military honors accorded by the United Veterans Honor Guard will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9:30 am until the time of Mass. In lieu of floral expressions memorials in Don's name may be made to the Boy Scouts of America Bay Lakes Council or the Oshkosh Veteran's Military Museum.
