I was so saddened to see that Irene had passed and while I hope to make it to her visitation, I wanted to take a moment here and say how wonderful it was to have her in the Oshkosh Seniors' Center Chorus (now called "The Golden Tones"). When I started to direct the chorus, she was very kind, friendly, and so dedicated and enthusiastic. Even when she was not feeling so well, she tried to make it to as many concerts as possible and her spirit was phenomenal. When my late husband and I gave her a few rides here and there, she was always talking about how good her kids were to her and how much she enjoyed spending time with them and all the grandchildren. There were a few chorus potlucks when she was able to bring something and her contributions were always tasty! She was such a great lady and I was happy to call her a friend.
