IRENE MARIE WOLF's Obituary
Irene M. Wolf age 90, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2016 at Bethel
Home in Oshkosh with her family at her side. Irene was born on July 20,
1925 daughter of the late Alois and Adelaide (Majorwitz) Berger. She
married Sylvester P. Wolf on April 4, 1945 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church,
Oshkosh. He preceded her in death on June 19, 1992.
They brought into the world 4 children, sons Tim (Connie) Wolf, Paul Wolf,
Jerry (Patti) Wolf and daughter Nancy (Bob) Reichenberger. They were
blessed with nine grandchildren, Debra (Tom) Heidl, Stacey (Tom) McConnell,
Teresa (Ryan Walker) Wolf, Paul (Rebecca) Wolf, Tammy Wolf Carey, Jessica
(Josh) Hutchings, Ryan (Treasea) Wolf, Erica (Rob) Mullen, Jared (Amy)
Reichenberger. The blessings continued with sixteen beautiful great
grandchildren, Austin Heidl, Cohen and Emjay McConnell, Landon, Logan,
Layton and Gwen Wolf, Madeline, Nina and Samantha Carey, Jacob and Mason
Hutchings, Charley and Ryder Mullen and Elliana and Maverick Reichenberger.
Irene lived for her family. She took great pride in her grandchildren and
great grandchildren. She never said no when asked if she wanted to go along
to watch any of their activities. She loved to bake especially her famous
rye bread. We still can’t make it like Mom! When you left her house you
never left empty handed. There was always chili, bread, bake dishes,
waiting for us to take home.
She loved music and loved to sing. She was so proud to be a member of the
Oshkosh Senior Chorus. She was an active member of the Serra Club, and in
her younger days she worked at the Wisconsin Telephone Co. She was a
lifelong member of Sacred Heart Parish (St. Jude Parish).
Irene was preceded in death by three brothers, Victor, Ralph and Leonard and
one sister Vivian Schramm.
The last five years of Mom’s life was a struggle, but she would not give up.
She was one hell of a fighter and one very special woman!
Celebration of life for Mom (Irene) will be held on Saturday, January 30,
2016 at St. Jude Parish (Sacred Heart Worship site 519 Knapp Street,
Oshkosh, WI) with Rev. Matthew Simonar and Rev. William Van De Kreeke
officiating. Inurnment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and
friends may call at the church from 9:30am until 11am with Mass to follow.
A Special thank you to Rev. Matthew Simonar, Rev. William Van De Kreeke,
Davita Dialysis Center and for those who were so caring at Bethel Home and
to ThedaCare Hospice Care for the special devotion given to Irene and her
family.
In lieu of flowers a memorial in Irene’s name is being established.
