New to this kind of thing, so part of this is also in the comments:
Random thoughts:
- the first friend I had when I moved to Oshkosh and went to Sacred Heart in the fourth grade. We sat alphabetically:
Mauritz
McAllister
- he hurt his arm (or shoulder?) during high school, and he wore that dang green hospital top for what seemed like the entire school year
- he has tiny little fingers like sausages
- I’m not sure if he owned the motorcycle that was bought and sold between several Lourdes boys, but that’s how I remember it
- at one point, he owned about 400 pairs of expensive tennis shoes (ok; I exaggerate; it was only 300)
- he was in charge of special effects for one of our school musicals, and put about double the flash powder in a lightning and thunder effect, and they had to stop the play while the smoke cleared
- several of us shared trunk space (at least four of us) in Franco’s car (The Gold Ghost) as Franco snuck us into the outdoor theater (yes; we’re old—there still was an outdoor theater)
- he was a good $#!+
- it was great to meet his daughters and girlfriend, even though it was during unfortunate circumstances. They absolutely showed their love and care for their father / partner.
- finally, only a few of us from the class of ‘81 might get this: Ummm, dah!
