Raymond "Uncle Ray" Drexler's Obituary
Raymond E. Drexler, age 92, of Oshkosh passed away on Sunday morning March 27, 2016 at Aurora Medical Center. Ray was born in Oshkosh on January 13, 1924 the son of Herman and Mary (Lang) Drexler. Ray served his Country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He married Cecelia Poklasny on October 30, 1948 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a member of St. Jude Parish (St. Vincent Church) and served as an usher for many years. Ray was employed at Discher's millwork in Oshkosh for many years as a master carpenter. He did a lot of woodwork at the Paine Art Center and St. Vincent's Catholic Church. He was everyone's "Uncle Ray" and a family favorite. He was always there to help anyone, friends, family and neighbors. He is survived by his two brothers; Joe and Clarence Drexler both of Oshkosh. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Cecelia in 2001, two sisters; Betty Ann and Henrietta. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 12 noon at St. Jude Parish (St. Vincent Church on the corner of W. South Park Ave & Oregon). Father Matt Simonar will be the celebrant. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10 am until the time of Mass. Private family committal services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Special Thank You to the staff at Sharehaven in Oshkosh, who always said they loved taking care of Ray.
