Thomas Lloyd Counts
Thomas L. Counts, age 80, passed away on Wednesday December 23, 2020 surrounded by loved ones at Mercy Medical Center.
Thomas was born on July 6, 1940 to William and Elle Mae (Lloyd) Counts of Oshkosh. He graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1959. After high school he joined the Wisconsin National Guard and served his country honorably. After service, he joined his father William and operated the Citgo service station and ran Counts Bus Service. After his father’s death Thomas and his wife Sally owned and operated Counts Bus Service until 1988. He was employed with Huettl Tours 1991-2004. Lastly, he was employed by Oshkosh Cabulance until earlier this year.
Tom was united in marriage to his wife Sally (Dinger) for 56 years on July 18, 1964 and together they raised 5 children in the Oshkosh Community. Terri- Chicago Il, Tom-Madison WI, Rebecca- Milwaukee WI, William- Oshkosh WI and Jane- Oshkosh WI.
Tom was involved in several organizations and cherished all the people he was associated with. He was a lifelong member of Wesley United Methodist Church. He was a member of Elks Lodge 292 and Oshkosh Masonic Lodge 27. He was also a member of the Wisconsin School Bus Associate and enjoyed the friendships he had with other members and their families.
Tom enjoyed attending and watching Wisconsin Sporting Events. He also enjoyed boating with his family on the local lakes and traveling the state to watch his grandkids youth sporting events.
Tom is survived by his wife Sally; Children Terri (Rob) West, Tom (Michell Ackeret),William (Sheila), Rebecca and Jane (Jerry) Vienola; 12 grandchildren, Morgan Counts, Megan Ackeret, Adam Ackeret, Kaelynn Counts, Ally Counts, Alex Counts, Grant Counts, Garrett Vienola, Will Counts, Zachery Counts, CJ Counts and Jacob Vienola.
In addition to his parents William and Ella Mae he was proceeded in death by his in laws, Carl and Florence Dinger.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for July 10, 2021 at Abe Rocklin Park from 1:00 P.M.- 4:00P.M. Light refreshments will be served. Come share a memory or two!
The family would like to thank the staff of Mercy Medical Center for their compassion and care of Tom during his stay.
